Ignite This Ish and The Gallivanting Grandma™️ are partnering to host a transformative retreat for Black women aged 55 and older in 2025. This unique program will address the historical and systemic barriers that have prevented many Black women from learning to swim, including generational trauma, emotional, and mental health challenges.
Empowering Women, Transforming Lives
The retreat will provide a safe and supportive environment for participants to:
- Overcome aquaphobia: Experienced instructors will lead engaging and personalized swim lessons tailored to older adults.
- Address emotional and mental health: Activities will focus on overcoming generational trauma, building confidence, and promoting overall well-being.
- Connect with a supportive community: Participants will have the opportunity to connect with other Black women, share their experiences, and build lasting friendships.
